On August 21, leading global consumer AR brand RayNeo hosted the 2026 RayNeo AI Glasses launch event and officially unveiled its all-new product line: the RayNeo iO series. As the first product in the series, RayNeo iO is designed around a return to the fundamentals of eyewear. It reimagines the device’s overall structure, optical display, and frame design, breaking away from the traditionally bulky image of AI glasses. With its always-on proactive AI, the glasses enhance users’ knowledge, self-expression, and memory, creating the industry’s first “human-augmentation AI glasses.” RayNeo iO starts at RMB 1,996 for the launch offer, with prescription options for myopia ranging from 0 to 1,000 degrees, bringing AI glasses beyond being a “tech novelty” and into everyday, all-day wear.
As the world’s leading AR glasses brand, RayNeo continues to drive consumer AR glasses toward the mass market through its end-to-end in-house development and mass-production capabilities for optical solutions. According to Counterpoint and IDC data, RayNeo once again ranked first in AR glasses shipments in both China and worldwide in the first quarter of 2026. It also claimed the top spot in single-product sales during China’s 618 shopping festival and North America’s Prime Day.
At a pivotal stage when AI glasses are moving from proof of concept to product competition, RayNeo has decided to return to the fundamentals of eyewear with the launch of its new iO series. The name iO comes from I/O in computer terminology—Input & Output—and reflects RayNeo’s understanding of human-computer interaction in the AI era: users naturally obtain information and express their intentions through the glasses, while AI understands their needs and feeds back just the right content and recommendations into their field of view, making the glasses a new gateway connecting people with the digital world.
Returning to the Fundamentals of Eyewear, with Technology Hidden in a Classic Design
For smart glasses to truly become part of everyday life, people must first want to keep wearing them. RayNeo iO has been redesigned across three dimensions—optical display, frame structure, and overall weight distribution—so that before it even lights up, it is already a pair of naturally styled, comfortable glasses.

To create a lens appearance closer to that of ordinary eyewear, RayNeo iO features a completely reengineered display system. Its new Blue Lake optical waveguide uses a three-layer optical structure and multilayer micro- and nanostructures, achieving a transmittance of 93% in the optical-combiner area and more than 98% in non-display areas. Even in complex lighting conditions, the display area remains almost invisible. Its color difference is controlled at a Delta E of 2.52, making it currently the only AI glasses product in the industry that complies with the EU’s EN ISO 12312-1 safety standard for everyday spectacle lenses.
The new optical engine, “Firefly Nano,” further reduces the volume and circuit footprint. It is ultimately smaller than a single red bean, allowing the optical module to be integrated into a slim frame. RayNeo iO provides the equivalent of a 33-inch display, while its binocular display architecture supports adjustment of the perceived viewing distance. With an in-eye brightness of up to 1,800 nits, it can display text clearly even under bright outdoor light. It also supports DC dimming throughout the entire brightness range and has received TÜV SÜD certifications for flicker-free and low-blue-light performance.

In terms of design, RayNeo iO adopts a classic crown frame shape, using straight lines to create a clean, refined look and rounded contours to soften the visual abruptness of a smart device. To conceal the technology within the slim profile of everyday eyewear, RayNeo selected a lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy front frame and double-layer titanium-alloy temples. The average width of the front-frame edge has been reduced to 2.25 mm, while the thinnest part of the titanium-alloy temples measures just 1.15 mm. Balancing strength with a refined tactile feel, the glasses look more like ordinary eyewear from both the front and sides. The overall weight starts at just 34 grams, delivering a comfortable all-day wearing experience.

To reduce the frequent interruptions caused by notifications on smartphones, RayNeo iO features an information dashboard focused on efficiency and concentration. Frequently accessed content—including weather, schedules, to-do items, world clocks, and stock subscriptions—is displayed directly in the user’s field of view. Smartphone notifications can also be synchronized to the lenses in real time, helping users quickly assess their urgency and importance.
For more precise interaction, the new Smart Crown supports both rotation and pressing, allowing users to confirm actions quickly with one hand without repeatedly searching for the touch-sensitive area on the temple. The product also supports head gestures such as nodding to confirm and shaking the head to cancel, enabling natural operation even in public settings. In the future, RayNeo will further expand the third-party ecosystem for RayNeo iO and plans to work with partners including Alipay, JD.com, Amap, and Tongcheng to introduce new use cases such as parking payments, parcel tracking, and flight information.
Always-On Proactive AI: A Capability-Enhancing Assistant That “Understands You Better the More You Wear It”
In the face of the high information density and cognitive load of modern work and life, traditional AI assistants often have to wait for users to issue commands before providing help in a single context. They also struggle to truly understand users’ long-term habits and needs. Designed for all-day wear, RayNeo iO supports up to two days of extended battery life, transforming AI from a tool that waits to be summoned into a continuously available capability-enhancing assistant.
At the foundational level, RayNeo iO uses open-source large language models as its capability base. It initially supports DeepSeek V4 Pro and Qwen 3.7 Max, with Kimi K3 and RayNeo’s self-developed RayNeo AI large model to be added later, giving users a choice of multiple models.
Building on this foundation, RayNeo also leverages the RayNeo All-Day Memory Engine to further connect information from the physical world. By processing information such as sound and location, iO can convert memories into multiple types of information, including situational, semantic, and behavioral data. It can understand users through large-scale, discontinuous, unstructured real-world data and record and process the 24-hour context generated during all-day wear.

RayNeo iO serves as an AI-enhanced assistant built around users’ daily schedules, meetings, and life activities. Its All-Day Intelligence feature automatically generates a daily summary, organizing important conversations, to-do items, and personal status to help users automate the management of everyday details.
As information accumulates, AI can retrieve historical content and understand users’ areas of interest and communication habits, so it does not have to start from scratch each time it responds. Users can review the key points from yesterday’s meeting or the follow-up appointment time they agreed to verbally, and they can ask AI for recommendations tailored to their preferences based on long-term records.
Based on its understanding and assessment of the user’s context, RayNeo iO also offers a real-time prompting mode. Without requiring users to issue a command, the product can identify relevant questions in an ongoing conversation and display suggested answers on the lenses. Whether during an impromptu interview, a business discussion, or a daily encounter with an unfamiliar topic, information can appear naturally at the moment it is genuinely needed.

RayNeo iO is equipped with four array microphones and one bone-conduction microphone. Through beamforming algorithms, it can accurately distinguish speakers in multi-person scenarios, improving the efficiency of meeting transcription and summarization.
To enhance the translation experience, RayNeo iO incorporates BabelOS 3.0, the intelligent translation engine from technology partner Timekettle, covering 55 languages and 109 accents worldwide. Unlike conventional machine translation, which simply concatenates words, BabelOS 3.0 first uses an AI large model to understand the complete meaning before generating translations that better match natural expression. Through semantic segmentation, polishing and error correction, and intelligent multi-engine dispatch, it reduces awkward literal translations and communication interruptions caused by waiting.
In presentation scenarios, RayNeo iO’s AI teleprompter mode scrolls in sync with the user’s speaking pace and highlights the content currently being delivered in real time, reducing the anxiety and interruptions caused by repeatedly shifting one’s gaze during public speaking.
Keeping AI Always On While Making Privacy Visible and Controllable at All Times
Always-on AI needs to continuously receive information from the real world. RayNeo iO incorporates privacy protection at the product-design stage. Based on the principle of Privacy by Design, it establishes a privacy protection system spanning hardware and data across four areas: collection status, data processing, user control, and external verification.
RayNeo iO is not equipped with a camera, reducing unnecessary visual data-collection entry points. The privacy status indicator on the temple is hardware-bound to functional modules such as recording and translation. Whenever a relevant function is active, the indicator lights up at the same time. It cannot be disabled or bypassed through software, ensuring that it is always clear whether the device is operating.
The raw conversations generated by All-Day Intelligence are irreversibly anonymized and desensitized on the device first. If uploads are necessary, only desensitized structured information is transmitted; the original content never leaves the device in an identifiable form. All data is protected throughout the process using financial-grade encryption standards.

Even after data is generated, users retain complete control over it. Historical data can be exported or migrated, or permanently deleted without the possibility of recovery. The glasses are bound one-to-one with an account, meaning that if the device is lost, others cannot rebind it or access its data.
RayNeo’s information security management system has received ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications and complies with requirements including GDPR, CE, EN 18031, and the CRA. RayNeo has also brought in white-hat security teams to conduct offensive and defensive security testing, ensuring that its privacy mechanisms—from collection and processing to user control—remain subject to external verification and that security stays transparent and controllable.
Positioned as “human-augmentation AI glasses,” RayNeo iO integrates everyday wearability, always-on proactive AI, and trusted privacy protection, taking AI from being merely “usable” to being “worth wearing over the long term.”

RayNeo iO is officially priced at RMB 2,499, with a launch offer starting at RMB 1,996. Additional options include a charging glasses case and a JD.com PLUS custom edition. The product is now available through JD.com, Tmall, Douyin, and multiple offline eyewear channels.

Meanwhile, the previously well-received RayNeo V4 AI camera glasses are now also available in a 32GB version, priced at RMB 1,999, or RMB 1,699 after China’s consumer subsidy.
