Here’s a look back at some of our most important AI updates from July, including three new Gemini models for building AI agents at scale, as well as Gemini Robotics ER 2, which helps robots reason, collaborate, and solve real-world tasks.
Google Team News
For more than 20 years, we’ve invested in machine learning and AI research, tools, and infrastructure to build products that can make everyday life better for more people. Teams across Google are exploring how to unlock the value of AI in a wide range of areas, including healthcare, crisis response, and education. To keep you up to date on our progress, we regularly share roundups of the latest AI news from Google.
Here’s a look back at some of our AI announcements from July.

July brought a range of advances in AI designed to support developers, simplify everyday life, and protect local communities. We introduced faster, more efficient Gemini models for developers to scale agents in production and advance robotics. We also expanded our suite of creative tools with a new generation of music and video tools, and brought Search and Gemini Spark more closely into the apps you use every day. In addition, we announced the creation of a new alliance for skilled trades and launched new satellites for early wildfire detection. Google DeepMind co-founder and CEO Demis Hassabis shared his vision for this pivotal moment in history. Overall, July’s updates showed how AI is becoming more useful, more creative, and more helpful than ever.

Learn about three new Gemini models. Developers and customers building production AI agents need greater token efficiency, lower latency, and more reliable performance. Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber are designed to strike the right balance between efficiency and quality, enabling agent workflows to scale.
Learn how robots are getting ready with Gemini Robotics ER 2. We introduced Gemini Robotics ER 2, our most capable embodied reasoning model to date. ER 2 is designed for developers building truly helpful machines, bridging the gap between digital intelligence and the physical world. It enables systems to converse naturally with people, understand their surroundings, and handle complex, multistep tasks.

Start using Gemini Intelligence on the latest devices announced at Galaxy Unpacked 2026. With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8, we’re making it easier than ever for users to get started with features on Android, while gradually rolling out the first capabilities of Gemini Intelligence.
Switch to Android more easily and bring your data with you. Alongside the launch of Samsung’s new Z Series products at Galaxy Unpacked, we’ve also built a new native migration experience directly into Android 17. Without downloading a separate app, users can wirelessly transfer more types of data from an iPhone.

Simplify your research with Gemini Notebook. Gemini Notebook is the same standalone product as the popular NotebookLM, but it can now do more across the Google ecosystem, including in the Gemini app and Google Search. It also comes with a secure cloud computer.

Explore the first version of ATLAS, the AI and economic activity atlas. Google’s ATLAS provides a comprehensive view of how people use AI at work and in their daily lives. This ongoing, large-scale, de-identified study is intended to give us an initial understanding of a rapidly changing field: AI capabilities are continuing to advance, how people use AI is evolving, and the tools for observing AI’s impact on the economy are still being refined.
Meet the Alliance for America’s Skilled Trades. To meet the growing demand for skilled-trades workers, we joined BlackRock, Carhartt, and Ford to establish the Alliance for America’s Skilled Trades. Together, we’ll build a stronger talent pipeline, expand evidence-based training approaches, and create more opportunities across the United States through cross-industry collaboration.
Learn how AlphaEvolve helps Cloud customers solve their toughest problems. Finding the most efficient algorithm can be a challenge. That’s why we’re making AlphaEvolve, a Gemini-powered AI coding optimization agent, available to all Google Cloud customers on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. AlphaEvolve acts as an evolutionary collaborator: simply provide a baseline algorithm and an objective, and it will automatically search for better solutions and return optimized, human-readable code.

Connect more apps to Search. You can already connect some of your favorite services to the Gemini app. To help you get more done, we now support securely linking and using popular apps such as YouTube Music directly in AI Mode.
With Personal Intelligence and connected apps, Search can provide answers that are more tailored to your needs.
