Today, at Galaxy Unpacked in London, we celebrated the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8. With these devices, we’re making it easier than ever for users to switch to Android, while also introducing the first capabilities of Gemini Intelligence

1 — our vision of technology proactively working for you. Whether you choose to unfold your phone to maximize efficiency on a larger screen, or keep it folded to stay focused on the moment, Gemini Intelligence is here to do the heavy lifting for you.

Here are three updates coming to the latest devices.

1. Get next-generation task automation with Gemini Intelligence.

Gemini Intelligence helps you offload digital chores so you can spend less time staring at your screen. Back in February, we introduced the task automation beta, helping you hand over simple daily tasks to Gemini, like hailing a ride or ordering your favorite takeout.

Now, task automation has expanded from just a few apps to over 40 popular apps.

2 This means Gemini can now help you handle more of your daily “life admin” — from shopping and booking dinner reservations to booking travel experiences and buying event tickets. On the Galaxy Z Flip8, you can even access this help directly from the Flex Window by long-pressing the power button.

Additionally, Gemini can now use advanced reasoning to understand what’s on your screen and parse complex images as prompts. This allows you to get help quickly — because sometimes, the easiest way to explain what you need is simply to show Gemini a shopping list or an inspiration photo.

While Gemini completes your tasks, you can track progress step-by-step on your screen, continue multitasking in other apps, or close your phone and let Gemini run in the background. If you need to make a quick adjustment or add a personal touch, you can step in to handle a specific detail before handing control back to Gemini to finish the rest. Gemini is designed to notify you when a task is ready for your review and final confirmation.

2. Elevate your projects with Gemini Notebook.

To help you manage deep projects and synthesize complex information, we’re bringing the power of Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) directly to your device. The app will come pre-installed on Samsung’s new foldable devices.

3

Gemini Notebook is a thinking and research partner powered by our advanced multimodal models. On the spacious display of the Galaxy Z Fold8 series, you can drag and drop photos, documents, whiteboard images, voice recordings, and more directly into a side-by-side workspace.

You can use Gemini Notebook’s chat feature to ask questions about your source materials, or go a step further to create customized, high-quality resources — including slides, videos, flashcards, quizzes, and even podcasts — tailored to how you learn.

To help you tackle your most ambitious projects, we’re offering a 6-month trial of Google AI Pro with every Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8, giving you greater access to powerful features like Audio Overviews, Video Overviews, Slides, and more.

3. Take Gemini on the go: Watches and glasses.

Our partnership with Samsung extends beyond smartphones. On the Galaxy Watch 9, you can access Gemini on the go even more easily. Just raise your wrist to activate Gemini, allowing you to ask questions directly without a wake word.

We’re also bringing Gemini to glasses. Back at Google I/O 2026, we announced smart glasses — built in partnership with Samsung and coming this fall — and showcased two designs from partners Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. Today, we’re announcing two more frames and sharing more about how Gemini’s helpful capabilities will come to life on these new devices. For instance, if you’re wearing a compatible Wear OS watch, you can control your glasses using just hand gestures.

Whether you’re looking to simplify your daily routine or boost your productivity, today’s announcements are just the beginning of what we have planned. We’ll be rolling out more intelligent features as they become ready, so you won’t have to wait long.
