Over the past year, you’ve created millions of videos in Google Vids to share your stories and bring ideas to life. This past February, we rolled out Veo 3.1 to all users, simplifying this process and helping everyone generate videos in Vids.
Now, we’re bringing Gemini Omni to Vids, allowing you to create and edit high-quality videos simply by describing what you want to see. You can start with a simple text prompt in natural language, then add image references—such as photos or sketches—to provide more detail. Omni will synthesize your inputs to generate a video that matches your vision.
Step-by-step edits with conversational editing
Getting a video just right often requires a few adjustments to the initial draft—and now, making those edits is as simple as describing what you want to see. Whether you’re refining a video generated with Omni or editing a clip shot on your phone, you can use everyday language to prompt Vids to replace backgrounds, adjust lighting, or add effects.
Because Omni supports step-by-step editing, you can now make changes to your video without having to start from scratch.
Put yourself in the video instantly
Want to quickly send a video update or a personalized greeting, but don’t have time to get camera-ready? With the new personal avatars, you can create a digital avatar that looks and sounds just like you. Simply upload a selfie and a short voice recording. After that, type what you want to say, and your avatar will deliver the message—no recording required.
Gemini Omni and personal avatars are currently available in Google Vids for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and Google Workspace business customers. Access to personal avatars is currently limited to users 18 and older in select regions. Personal avatars are tied to the user’s Google Account and are restricted to the account holder’s own likeness.
